Delhi and its monsoons!!! Oh Wow..!!! Delhi is beautiful during monsoons...(Well come to think of it Delhi is beautiful at all times.) I remember the day when the entire city welcomed the first showers of monsoons this year...I was standing on the curb when i felt a tiny droplet of water drop on my head. (Thank goodness I wasn't standing under a tree), I looked up towards the sky and a big smile quickly spread across my space. Monsoons were finally here!!! This year everyone waited a lot for the rains to come...and wen it finally did, it was a big relief to everyone...
That tiny droplet of water turned into a light shower and finally into a heavy downpour....It was just beautiful....On the opposite side I could see people on two wheelers stopping their bikes and running towards a tiny puncture shop with thatched roof where everyone was trying to squeeze themselves in...I could also see a guy who was standing outside the roof of the shelter but had just tilted his head enough so that the roof gave shelter to just his head (giggle)....Next came someone who was also very eager to find shelter for itself...and who was it?? A cute little puppy of course....poor thing was half drenched...its fluffy tail had drooped down due to weight of water on it..and its tiny little paws were soaked in mud....No one would give it space to sit or even stand....Finally a kid of probably 5 or 6, ushered the dog and held his school bag above it...it was just amazing...
I could suddenly feel tears rolling down my cheeks...it is funny how so many adults there did not feel a thing for the poor creature and a small kid...who barely has sense to keep himself dry..helps a dog to keep it dry too...
